In other news, a mosquito might bite me later today.
“The Pacific Tsuanmi Warning Center said experts were possibly expecting 3 to 5 or 6 feet tsunami waves in Hawaii, depending on the location.”
Seriously, am I missing something? This would barely make a surfer leave his warm bed. Now, these are what I would call Tsunamis.
Yeah, probably(hopefully) will not be devastating. From what I am understanding, these waves have the potential of traveling with much greater energy than the legendary surf that Waimea Bay can get. I think this is more about tidal surge and flooding, rather than a wall wave(s) strinking.
The good news is that the Coast Guard & Navy have not ordered boats that are currently moored in port to get underway. As a former deckhand, I can say that I would hate to be on duty today though. Those folks will have to fuck with the lines all day. I hope that there are some Petty Officers & Chiefs with calm nerves as they serve their, “Officer of the Day” duties.
